Sharon M. (Brenner) Allen

Sharon M. (Brenner) Allen of Pleasant Hill, MO., lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 1, 2015, she was 51. Born October 23, 1963 in Harrisonville, MO. to Charles (Bud) and Shirley (Johnson) Brenner.

Sharon grew up in Pleasant Hill and attended Pleasant Hill Schools. She married Greg Allen of Pleasant Hill on December 8, 1979. Greg enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and they lived briefly in Little Rock, Arkansas and Biloxi, Mississippi before they returned to Pleasant Hill where they made their home and raised two sons, Ryan and Travis.

Sharon worked for the North Kansas City Police Department, Pleasant Hill Police, the Cass County Sheriffs Department, and the Harrisonville Police Department. Her passions in life were her family and art. She was a very talented artist and she loved to paint. She was a member of Town & Country Art League of Pleasant Hill.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Bud Brenner.

She is survived by her husband, Greg Allen of the home; two sons, Ryan (Tania) Allen and Travis (Jonni) Allen both of Pleasant Hill; her mother, Shirley Brenner of Pleasant Hill; brother Roger (Kacy) Brenner of Pleasant Hill; sister, Sarah (Brian) Lackland of Glasgow, MO; two beloved granddaughters, Joslyn and Averi; one dear grandson, Cole, and many more family members, and friends.

A Memorial to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, with Rev. Preston Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends, prior to the Memorial Service, from 5:00 p.m. until service time at 8:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

In the continued spirit of caring for others Sharon has donated her body to cancer research in hopes that someone else may be spared.

In lieu of flowers, Sharon requested donations to “SMAART” an Art scholarship fund in her name. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
