Helping Families and Friends Honor Loved Ones Since 1959

Robert “Bob” M. Hunt, II

Robert “Bob” Marion Hunt II

Robert (Bob) Marion Hunt II, 70, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born on February 26, 1955, in Holden, Missouri to Robert and Rena Hunt. He departed this life on June 19, 2025 at Kansas City Hospice House, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was raised in Greenwood, Missouri, where his values of hard work, honesty, and commitment to his family first took root. Bob graduated from Lee’s Summit High School before beginning a successful career as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He worked for Max Rieke & Brothers through the Local 101 Operating Engineers, where he was admired for his dedication and work ethic. Bob respectfully retired in 2012.

On May 17, 1980, Bob married the love of his life, Robin Rae (Caywood) Hunt and spent 45 wonderful years building a life filled with love and laughter in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Together, Bob and Robin spent countless moments of shared retirement at their beloved cabin, “sitting on the porch”, and enjoying the simpler things of life. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family.

Bob lived by the motto “work hard, play hard.” A jack of all trades, he was always ready to fix, build, or lend a hand. His deep well of knowledge and his generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Whether he was sharing advice, telling a good story, or just showing up when someone needed him, Bob’s presence was a gift.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Robin Hunt of the home; his children, Bobby (Angie) Hunt of Gardner, KS, Rachel (Daniel) Bunce of Pleasant Hill, and Rhonda Keats of Pleasant Hill; and his grandchildren, Evan, Maci, Madalynne, Kaleb, Jaedon, Austin and Kylee. He is also survived by his brothers, Randy Hunt of Peculiar, MO, and Russell Hunt of Harrisonville, MO. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rena Hunt, and his brother, Ricky Hunt.

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation has been accorded.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 1pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2pm at Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

I spent 36 years with Johnson County Park and Recreation District. I spent a vast majority of my time supervising the development of trails all throughout Johnson County Kansas. For many, many years, Bob was the heavy equipment operator that was assigned to my projects by Max Rieke. It didn’t matter what piece of equipment got dropped off. Loader, dozer, hoe, roller, sheepsfoot, Bob could operate it. Today, JCPRD is known Nationally for having an exceptional trail system, and we all owe Bob a debt of gratitude for all of his contributions. Thanks Buddy.
