Helping Families and Friends Honor Loved Ones Since 1959

Richard A. “Dick” Bouchard

RICHARD ALFRED “Dick” BOUCHARD

Richard Alfred “Dick” Bouchard was born November 12, 1935 in Sidney, Montana and departed this life on November 30, 2025 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by the love of family, at the age of 90 years and 18 days.

He was the son of Adelard and Anna (Rambur) Bouchard.

Dick lived in Montana until the death of his mother in 1949. He then moved to Independence, Missouri to live with his sister. On May 20, 1958, Dick joined the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country until May 19, 1961. While in the Marine Corp stationed in California, Dick was a member of the Marine Sharpshooting Team and traveled all over the country competing in different events. One of his competitions led to Washington DC, where he and a friend, on a day off, decided to visit an amusement park. While at the park he met a young lady who, at the time, was working in Washington DC as a secretary for the Department of the Navy, Lillie Mae Weatherly and, some months later, on September 26, 1959 Dick and Lillie were married in San Diego, California. After their marriage, Dick and Lillie continued to live in San Diego until Dick’s honorable discharge from the Marines. Dick and Lillie moved with their son Richard, age 3, and their daughter Renee who was just 12 days old, to Pleasant Hill in October of 1963 so Dick could work at the Nike Missile Base to fulfill his reserve obligation. Dick worked at the Nike Missile Base until 1966. At that time, he took ownership of Dick’s 66 Service Station in Pleasant Hill where he remained in business until 1979. Dick also served as an auxiliary police officer in Pleasant Hill, during the same time, when extra help was needed. After closing the full-service gas station, he began employment with the Gas Service Company and remained there until 1999 when he retired as an inspector.

The most important thing in Dick’s life was his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who took great pride in his family, supporting and encouraging them in all their endeavors and always putting their needs above his own.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Adelard and Anna Bouchard and two sisters, Virginia Hawkins and Viola Beck.

He is survived by his wife Lillie Mae Bouchard of the home; son, Richard Wayne Bouchard and wife Nancy of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; daughter Renee Ann Couture and husband Marc of Papillion, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren, Anna Bouchard, Joseph Bouchard and wife Tiffany, Ashley Bouchard, Tim Couture and wife Sara, Jessica Kraft and husband Nathan, and Cathy Couture; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Lily, Richard, Theodore, Caden and Amy, other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Wallace Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rick Bouchard officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.

I am so sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. He and his family were very special to me. He came over several times when Terry was gone and relit the pilot light on my furnace. I loved the whole family and Renee was one of my special dancers. She, also, would babysit when the kids were small. Rest in Peace, Dick. You hold a special place in my heart.
