Patricia A. (Gray) Elliott

PATRICIA ANN (Gray) ELLIOTT

Patricia Ann (Gray) Elliott was born April 22, 1939, in Kansas City, MO and gained her heavenly wings on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the at the age of 83, at her home, surrounded by her loving family with her most treasured Mazie, by her side.  She was the daughter of LaVerne Gray and Dorothy (Lyons) Gray-Pope-Hall. The Gray family moved from Independence, Mo to Pleasant Hill in 1951, where she attended the Wingate Community School before graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1957. 

Pat was a member of the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill since 1953, where she later married her high-school sweetheart, Clyde Earl Elliott on June 2nd, 1957.  They were blessed with two children, James E. Elliott and Janice LaRue, both of Pleasant Hill.

Pat first served the R-3 school District as a school bus driver for 22 years before she started at the PHMS as a secretary and lunchroom cashier in 1988.  She began working full time in the office in 1990 until her retirement in 2002.  She always helped farm the family farm and raise cattle right alongside her husband of 65 years.     

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always doing her best to never miss any opportunity to spend time with them.   She loved all animals (except snakes), she was an expert seamstress, extraordinary cook, meticulous housekeeper, and bountiful gardener.  She loved mowing her yard and being outside in the sunshine.  She will be remembered for her kind, compassionate, loving soul, smiling face and soft voice (most of the time), along with her grit, tenacity, and endurance.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Earl Elliott; her father, LaVerne Gray; her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Lowell Pope; her paternal grandparents, Lyman and Freda (Hartman) Gray; and her maternal grandparents, William and Sally (Guyton) Lyons.

She is survived by her son, James E. Elliott (Kimberly) of Pleasant Hill and her daughter, Janice LaRue (Glen) of Pleasant Hill.  Along with her three incredible grandsons; Chuck Tye (Amanda) of Pleasant Hill, Chris Tye of Holden and Lowell Elliott of Pleasant Hill, her three loving great grandsons;  Austin Tye, Mason Tye and Cooper Tye, along with her nieces, nephew, other relatives and many, many friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023, at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri with Mr. Willie Harlow officiating. Casket Bearers will be Chuck Tye, Chris Tye, Lowell Elliott, Austin Tye, Mason Tye and Cooper Tye. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Elliott, Jack Rogers, Billy Snyder and Max Schmoll.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in honor of Pat to Ascend Hospice, 783 NE Anderson Lane, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64064 or the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter, memorial donations may also be sent in care of the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Ascend Hospice for their many hours of care, equipment, medicine, and compassion given to Pat.
