Janet Hoffman

Janet Louise (Trapp) Hoffman was born June 19, 1954 in Monterey, California and departed this life on February 26, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 62 years, 8 months and 7 days.

She was the daughter of Bill “B.C.” and Jacquelee (Rice) Trapp.

Janet spent her younger years in the Springfield, Missouri area, graduating from Parkview High School in 1972.
On August 30, 1978, Janet was united in marriage with Eric Dale Hoffman in Springfield, Missouri. After their marriage, Janet and Eric made their home in Springfield for several years, eventually moving to Pleasant Hill in 2003.

In 1994, just short of her 40th birthday, Janet graduated Cum Laude from Southwest Missouri State University (now MSU) in Springfield, Missouri with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Information Systems. She worked as a Program Analyst until her retirement. Janet was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She eagerly anticipated the starting of the baseball season each year so she could attend her grandson Jude’s baseball games. Janet was an “animal advocate” with a passion for animal rescue, loving and caring for many cats, dogs and horses throughout her lifetime. Janet was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, B.C and Jacquelee Trapp and one sister, Susan Jane Trapp.

Janet is survived by her husband, Eric Dale Hoffman of the home; one son, Jesse Dale Hoffman of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two daughters, Trudy Isabel Shepard of Springfield, Missouri and Erica Louise Hoffman of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one sister, Paula English of Willow, Alaska; 6 grandchildren, Sage Journey Shepard, Riley Jewel Atkinson, Jude Alexander Hoffman, Helen Katherine Hoffman, Olivia Viola Hoffman and Elaina Louise Hoffman, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service for Janet Louise Hoffman will be held at 3:00p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri with Monsignor Robert Murphy officiating.
