Frank Slaughter, Jr.

Frank Slaughter, Jr. was born January 30, 1955 in Harrisonville, Missouri and departed this life, surrounded by the love of family, on July 15, 2019 at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

He was the son of Wesley Frank Slaughter, Sr. and Edith Ann (Snow) Slaughter.

Frank grew up in the Lee’s Summit area and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1973.

On June 1, 1991, Frank was united in marriage with Brenda Joyce Brecht in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and they lovingly parented 9 children.

Frank’s love of the Lord, and his compassionate nature, led him to become the pastor of the Open Range Fellowship in Lone Jack, Missouri. He led his brothers and Sisters in Christ, not only with his spiritual messages and music, but also by example of the way he lived his life.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Frank Slaughter, Sr. on January 6, 2014; his mother, Edith Ann (Snow) Slaughter on January 7, 2018, and his sister, Mary Longaker on January 28, 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Slaughter of the home; two sons, Wesley Frank Slaughter, III and wife Molly of Belton, MO, and Shawn Decker and wife Jessica of Lowry City, MO; seven daughters, Betsy Slaughter and husband Don Fletcher, Katrina Pigue and husband Chris, Katie Roark and husband Bill, Laura Slaughter, and Anna Minor,  all of Lee’s Summit, MO., Amanda Brunstein and husband Mike of Coolidge, AZ., and Jenna Decker of Orrick, MO; one sister, Patty Prewitt of Vandalia, MO.; 30 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relative and all his brothers and sisters in Christ.

In honor of Frank Slaughter, Jr., a Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at L.S.C.C., 1440 SW Jefferson St. Lee’s Summit, MO. 64081, with Pastor Tony Nunn officiating.

In Frank’s memory, contributions may be made to Open Range Fellowship Missionary Fund and sent in care of Open Range Fellowship, 509 W. Lone Jack Lee’s Summit Road, Lone Jack, Missouri 64070.

    Edith Snow Slaughter was my Grandpa Roy Caleb Snow’s cousin. I am so sorry to read of family’s loss. May the good Lord be with you at this time.

    We played together as children related but both admired! The last time I saw you, you were living in the trailer by the creek, that was a long time ago my friend!
