Donald R. Hoover

Donald Ray Hoover was born December 3, 1936 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri and departed this life on January 30, 2021 at Meadow View at Harrisonville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonville, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 27 days.

He was the son of Heber A. and Blanche Fern (Smith) Hoover.

Donald spent his younger years in the Pleasant Hill and Strasburg, Missouri area, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1954. After graduation, he moved to Raymore, Missouri. On July 7, 1955, Donald was united in marriage to Frances A. Oldham. After their marriage they lived in Harrisonville, Missouri until 1958 when they moved to Peculiar, Missouri to make their home. Donald and Frances were later divorced.

Donald worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Bill Parrott Trucking Company for many years. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

In his spare time, Donald liked to “tinker” with small engines and cars.

Donald was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy Ann Lane on February 13, 1994; his parents, Heber and Blanche Hoover, and two brothers, David Wayne Hoover and Harry Hoover.

He is survived by two sons, Robin Ray Hoover and wife Diana of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Ronald Dean Hoover and wife Tracy of Peculiar, Missouri; one daughter, Donita Sue Hoenshell and husband Terry of Peculiar, Missouri; one brother, Joseph Calvin Hoover and wife Sandy; one sister, Linda Faye Hoover-Maskus and husband Richard; 6 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled at this time.

    I haven’t seen Donnie for several years, we used to truck together over the years!! Donnie was always a great guy, he was always ready to help anyone in need!! Condolences to the family!!!
