DARREN GEORGE RHOADS

Darren George Rhoads was born December 31, 1960 in Harrisonville, Missouri and departed this life on March 25, 2025 at his home in Independence, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 22 days.

He was the son of Ray Arlen and Elma Jean (Clements) Rhoads.

Darren spent most of his life in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1979.

Darren worked as a residential and commercial plumber. He was a former member of the Plumbers & Gasfitters Union, local #8 of Kansas City, Missouri. In recent years, he had worked with his brother, Taylor, in the plumbing business.

On May 5, 2007, Darren was united in marriage with Sonya Renee James in Independence, Missouri. After their marriage, they made their home in Independence.

Darren was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family.

Darren was preceded in death by his father, Ray Rhoads and brother-in law, Rick Supulver

He is survived by his wife, Sonya Renee (James) Rhoads of the home; his mother, Jean Rhoads of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Ron Smith and wife Andrea of Watertown, Tennessee; 3 daughters, Jonni James of Harrisonville, Missouri, Daryn Walcott and husband Zack and, Vanci Roush and husband Matthew all of Independence, Missouri; one brother, Taylor Rhoads and wife Jenny of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 3 sisters, Sauna Grider and husband Jon of Kansas City, Missouri, Viola Fleener and husband Keven “Butch” of Vancleave, Mississippi, and Sue Supulver of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren, Keena, Millie, Cali, Isaiah, Lexi, Alyssa and Robin; many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded. The family of Darren George Rhoads will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.

    I have great memories of Darren while growing up in Pleasant Hill . He was a good guy and I always liked him and love my memories of his entire family. I was sad to learn of his passing. May God Bless his family!
