BRENDA KAYE (Collie) KATH

Brenda Kaye (Collie) Kath was born April 2, 1951 in Campbellsville, Kentucky and departed this life on July 7, 2024, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 5 days.

She as the daughter of Edward Daniel and Orpha “Louise” (Crick) Collie.

Brenda lived several places during her younger years, including Englewood, Colorado where she was a 1969 graduate of Englewood High School. Later in life, Brenda obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Theology.

On July 17, 1974, Brenda was united in marriage with Norman G. Kath in Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Kath preceded her in death on June 17, 2003.

Brenda had a variety of careers during her lifetime, all involving caring for people.

Brenda moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri in 2014 to be near her niece and nephew, Angie and Ben Barbarick, who also served as her caregivers when Brenda’s health started to decline.

She was a devoted and active member of Echo Church of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Brenda enjoyed nothing more than sharing the word of the Lord with children, both in her church, Sunday School and in her personal life. She was a woman of great faith and will now spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and will be rejoicing in Heaven with her loved ones that went before her.

Brenda loved and was dedicated to her family and treasured the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Norman, Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Louise Collie; one sister, Sharon Kastle; and her nephew, Wayne Edward Kastle.

She is survived by one son, Shane A. Landenberger of Parker, Colorado; one niece, Angie Barbarick and husband Ben of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; grandchildren, Nic, Collin, Noah and Avery; and, many other much loved family and friends.

The family of Brenda Kaye Kath will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor J.R. Brown officiating. Casket Bearers will be Ben Barbarick, Shane Landenberger, Collin Landenberger and Nic Landenberger. Interment will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas.
