Bob Meador

Bob Meador was born March 17, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on August 25, 2020 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 8 days.

He was the son of Robert William and Nadine Mae (Silvain) Meador.

Bob spent his younger years in Belton, Missouri, graduating from Belton High School in 1967. After graduation, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge, Bob returned home and began his career in law enforcement. He served as a police officer in several different cities including Belton, Missouri, Grandview, Missouri and eventually becoming Chief of Police in Greenwood from 1978 – 1996.

After his retirement from law enforcement, Bob went to work for Quick Delivery. In 2016 he took a position with Renzenberger/Hallcon of Lenexa, Kansas, transporting crew members for RNSF Railway. Bob continued to work for Renzenberger/Hallcon until declining health forced his retirement.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nadine Meador; son, Douglas Robert Meador and brother-in-law, Rick Schmoll.

He is survived by his daughter, Roberta “Robin” Meador and husband Patrick of Belton, Missouri; sister, Theresa Ann Schmoll of Belton, Missouri; companion of 20 years, Barb Graham of the home; step-daughters, Tammy Contreras of the home and Nicole Schank of Raytown, Missouri; grandchildren, Ashely Riley and husband Nathan of Raymore, Missouri, Jeremy Potter and wife Felicia of Belton, Missouri and Andrew Lundemo of Belton, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kenna and Taron; nephews, Chris Webber and wife Savannah and their daughters Remi and Esme, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Joe Webber and wife Shelia and their daughter Skyla of Belton, Missouri, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside Service and Inurnment, with Military Honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Belton Cemetery in Belton, Missouri, with Seventy Becky Carlile officiating. The family of Robert Berry “Bob” Meador will host a Celebration of Life Luncheon immediately following the graveside service on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at “Meet on Main”, 515 Main Street, Belton, Missouri.

    Worked for Bob for a while he was a great man to work with and for. I have a lot of respect for this man!!!
