BILLIE JEAN (Pfaff) KIMBRELL

Billie Jean (Pfaff) Kimbrell was born April 9, 1930 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri and departed this life on July 9, 2025 at Addington Place of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 95 years and 3 months.

She was the daughter of Adolph W.  and Violet M. (Dinges) Pfaff.

Billie spent her entire life in Pleasant Hill, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1948. In 1949, she went to work in the business office of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Kansas City, Missouri and worked there until 1951. In 1951, Billie became an employee of the Pleasant Hill Bank. She worked at the Pleasant Hill Bank until 1956, then took a position with The Gas Service Company in Lee’s Summit, Missouri (which later became Missouri Gas Energy). Billie retired from Missouri Gas Energy in 1987. After her retirement, Billie did some volunteer work, first in the kitchen at Pleasant Hill Meals on Wheels, then she volunteered at the Hunkeler Eye Clinic in Kansas City, Missouri. Later she did volunteer work at the Pleasant Hill Historical Society Museum.

On January 7, 1955, Billie was united in marriage with Robert D. (Bob) Kimbrell at her parent’s home in Pleasant Hill. They were married for over 68 years before Bob’s death on March 21, 2023.

Billie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Hill and had served as both a Sunday school teacher and deacon. She was a member of V.F.W. Post #3118 Ladies Auxiliary of Pleasant Hill and the Pleasant Hill Historical Society. Billie had also served on the board of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, and was a former member of PEO Chapter DS of Pleasant Hill.

Billie enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, entertaining and especially spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Bob Kimbrell, Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph W. and Violet (Dinges) Pfaff and her brother, Carl Pfaff.

She is survived by her niece, Theresa Vasko and husband Terry; nephews, Michael Pfaff and wife Melissa and, Christopher Pfaff and wife Lisa; several Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Service and Interment for Billie Jean (Pfaff) Kimbrell will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Missouri with Chaplain Charles Oliver officiating. Casket Bearers will be Mike Pfaff, Chris Pfaff, Kaleb Pfaff, Brad Vasko, Terry Vasko and Nathan VanTrump.

    I was sadden to learn about Billie’s passing. Such a sweet lady inside & out. Many memories when we lived next door to her parents. I rejoice in knowing that she has be reunited with her Savior, family & friends, as well as her beloved Bob.

    Billie Jean always had the most positive outlook, she always had something good to say. She was a truly amazing woman and I will miss her.
