Anna Marie (Hamilton) Greene was born December 10, 1925 in Greenwood, Missouri and departed this life on March 17, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center with her daughter, Donna, by her side.
She was the daughter of Robert Glenn and Mary Marie (Kennedy) Hamilton.
Anna spent her younger years in Greenwood, Missouri, graduating Greenwood High School in 1943. On October 28, 1944, Anna was united in marriage with Donald Edward Greene in Olathe, Kansas, and they made their home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Anna and Donald were married for 69 years before his passing on January 17, 2014.
Anna worked, for a while, at Western Electric as an assembler, but most of her life was spent as a full time wife, mother and homemaker. She was well known for her wonderful pies and delicious cookies.
In addition to her husband, Donald E. Greene, Anna was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Glenn and Mary Marie (Kennedy) Hamilton; one son, who she adored, Lawrence A. Greene on May 24, 2015; one brother, Robert Glenn Hamilton and two sisters, Hannah Nadine Jones and Marian “Eileen” Griffith.
Anna is survived by her loving daughter, Donna (Greene) Smith of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jeff, Kristen, Stephanie and Janell; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Alyssa, Danielle and Ava; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has been accorded. Graveside Service and Inurnment will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kent Deubner officiating.
