Helping Families and Friends Honor Loved Ones Since 1959

Alice J. (Russell) Snow

ALICE JEAN (Russell) SNOW

Alice Jean (Russell) Snow was born November 29, 1946 in Cass County, Missouri and departed this life March 19, 2023, surrounded by the love of family, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 18 days.

She was the daughter of Irvin and Pearl Mae (Alley) Russell.

Alice spent her entire lifetime in the Cass County, Missouri area  and graduated from Lone Jack High School, Lone Jack, Missouri.

On April 2, 1963, Alice was united in marriage with Jerry F. Snow in Versailles, Missouri and to this union two daughters, Jerrie LeAnn and Jeanna Lynn were born. After their marriage, Alice and Jerry made their home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

After her marriage, Alice worked for a brief time at the Pleasant Hill Garment Factory before becoming a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. In 1986, Alice took a position with the Pleasant Hill School District as a bus driver, retiring in 2019. Alice took her job seriously and for 33 years safely and lovingly transported several generations of children not only to and from school, but also to school activities and sporting events, in time, that included her own grandchildren.

Alice enjoyed painting and gifted many of her pictures to family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Alice loved hummingbirds and attracted swarms of them every year to her Hummingbird feeders, so many, in fact, that it took hours each day just to keep up with filling the feeders.

Above all else, Alice loved her family. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never missed any activities that her children and grandchildren participated in, and was always there to show her love, support and provide encouragement to them in their individual endeavors.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Pearl Russell; one daughter, Jeanna Lynn Snow and infant twin great-grandsons, Kody and Conor.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry F. Snow of the home; one daughter, Jerrie LeAnn Snow of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; three grandchildren, David L. Teaney and Nancy Durdan, Alana R. Dinges and husband Tony, and Devin W. Snow and wife Jessica all of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; eleven great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Alice Jean (Russell) Snow will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Adams Cemetery, 11400 S. Buckner Tarsney Road, Grain Valley, Missouri, with Rev. Tim Casteel officiating. Casket Bearers will be David Teaney, Devin Snow, Jake Alig, Wayne Hopper, Tony Dinges and Kyle Peterson.

In Memory of Alice Jean (Russell) Snow, the family suggests contributions to the Wallace Funeral Home, 422 N. Lake Street, Pleasant Hill, Missouri 64080, to help with final expenses.

Alice, my aunt was a great friend. She shared her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments when we met for our frequent restaurant outings. She was proud of them and I know they are missing her. To Jerry and all her family we give our deepest sympathies for your loss. We wish you courage in this difficult time.
