VICKY DIANE HENDERSON
Vicky Diane Henderson was born September 7, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on January 6, 2026 at her home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 75 years, 4 month and 30 days.
She was the daughter of Martin and Bettie (Rigney) Thompson.
Vicky spent the majority of her childhood in Martin City, Missouri where her father was local law enforcement and business owner and her mom stayed at home to take care of her children. The family later moved to the Ruskin heights area where Vicky attended VanHorn High School and met the love of her life, Larry A. Henderson. Vicky and Larry were married in 1968. Vicky gave birth to 3 children, Mark A. Henderson on February 3, 1971 and then twin daughters, Melissa D. Henderson (Jenniges) and Melinda D. Henderson (Craig), on March 20, 1973. Vicky raised and took care of their children in their Independence, Missouri home until they started elementary school. They later moved the family to Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where all of their children graduated high school. Vicky and Larry moved to N. Richland Hills, Texas in 1991 where they lived for 20 years until retirement. Vicky retired from Becton Dickinson. In 2010, Vicky and Larry moved back to Warsaw, Missouri where their plans were to live out their retirement years. Larry passed away in 2015. After Larry’s death, Vicky then moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri and lived out the rest of her life.
In addition to her husband Larry A. Henderson, Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Bettie Thompson; her brother, Marty Thompson; her son, Mark A. Henderson; her grandson Kolby Henderson, and additional extended family members.
She is survived in death by her daughters, Melissa Jenniges and husband Brandon Jenniges of Springtown, Texas, and Melinda Craig and husband James Craig of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Teal and husband Logan of Greenwood, Missouri, Ryan Willis and Megan Nordike of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Andrew Willis and Ashlyn Anderson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and, Abby Taras of Wichita Falls, Texas; one great-grandchild, Lainey Teal of Greenwood, Missouri and multiple extended members of family.
Cremation has been accorded and no services are scheduled.
