Sylvia Jane (Blackwell) Lauck passed peacefully surrounded by the love of friends on October 19, 2015 in Pleasant Hill, MO. Sylvia grew up in Lee’s Summit, graduating from Lee’s Summit High School in 1951. Sylvia enjoyed being a majorette and playing basketball and enjoyed the friendship of her team mates until her death.
As a young adult, Sylvia was a devoted equestrian, breaking and training young horses for pleasure for numerous clients, successfully working with different breeds.
Sylvia was a Senior A Accountant for TWA, traveling extensively while helping them transition into the computer age. Later in life, Sylvia became a real estate agent and enjoyed that career very much.
Sylvia had been a resident of Peasant Hill for 25 years, enjoying her friends, family and neighbors. Sylvia was 82 at the time of her death.
Sylvia is survived by her brother, John Randolph Blackwell, IV; her sister, Marie K. (Mitty Blackwell) Tooke; her nephew, Michael Joseph Raysik, II; daughter, Marcy Sechrest of Mexico and her beloved and devoted friend, Russell Snyder of Pleasant Hill.
Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Grace United Methodist Church, 2400 E. 50 Highway, Lee’s Summit, MO at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, with Rev. Hubert Neth officiating.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, MO.
