Sharon L. (Byrd) Thompson

Sharon LeAnne (Byrd) Thompson was born December 5, 1965 in Harrisonville, Missouri and departed this life on April 9, 2021 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 55 years, 4 months and 4 days.

She was the daughter of Melvin Lee and Sharon “Kay” (Hatfield) Byrd.

Sharon spent her younger years in Pleasant Hill, Missouri where she attended school. Most of Sharon’s adult life was spent in the Independence and Kansas City, Missouri area before returning to Pleasant Hill two years ago to make her home.

Sharon worked as a dietary aide in several nursing homes throughout the area and had owned and operated her own house cleaning service.

Sharon loved her family and, made it a point to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard and was an avid collector of “teddy bears”.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Lee Byrd and Sharon “Kay” Thomas and one son, Coly Byrd.

She is survived by her fiancé, Max Harp of the home; two daughters, Crissy Fillmore of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Nikki (Booo) Byrd of the home; one brother, Lonnie Byrd of Osceola, Missouri; one aunt, Dorothy Ponder of Pleasant Hill; twelve grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A Celebration of Life Service for Sharon LeAnne Thompson will be held at a later date.
