Michael Dean Beck, age 75, passed away on July 6, 2025 at his home in Olathe, Kansas. Michael “Mike” Beck was born on May 12, 1950 to Ellis (Bud) Dean Wilson and Mabel (Maynard) Wilson in Phoenix, Arizona. After Mabel’s divorce and remarriage to Clyde Stephen Beck, Mike was adopted and raised by them. He was a class of 1967 graduate from Peoria High School. Mike honorably served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam War from September 24, 1968 to September 23, 1974

 

Mike married Ella (Pearson) Beck on July 10, 1970 in the First Baptist Old Stone Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. They moved to Oakland, California, while Mike finished his tour of duty with the US Navy.

 

Upon Mike’s discharge from the US Navy they moved to Olathe, Kansas. Mike worked as a Maintenance Technician for over 35+ years and was a dedicated member of the Brotherhood of Local 218. He was a prolific reader, enjoyed watching the History Channel and movies, along with spending time with his family and friends. He loved coffee, beer, whiskey, caramels, wood working, and puzzles.

 

Mike is preceded in death by wife, Ella (Pearson) Beck; by his parents, Ellis Wilson, Mabel (Maynard) Beck, and adoptive parent Clyde Stephen Beck; and his brother Ronald Wilson and sister Nancy (Beck) Lloyd.

 

Mike is survived by his three sons, Tony, Nick (Ashlie), and Jake (Andrea); six Grandchildren, Gabbie, Seth, Ellie, Brooke, Izzy and Huxly; two brothers, Robert Beck and Rex Beck; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

The family intends to hold a remembrance gathering at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory may be offered to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project. The family of Mike wishes to extend our sincere thanks to ALL family, friends, and close neighbors that have been so supportive during this time.

    It was a pleasure to know and be loved by both Mike and Ella. They made Westerfield the best place to grow up. Sending thoughts and prayers to the Beck family during this difficult time.
