Judith “Judy” Carol Cummings (Schmidt)

Judith “Judy” Carol Cummings (Schmidt), age 86, of Holden, Missouri, passed away on December 8th, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Born on January 24,1939, Judy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holden, Missouri.

Judy grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area where she met the love of her life, Vince Cummings (Cammisano) whom she married on May 7, 1955. Together with her husband, Vince, she raised their family with a deep connection to horses and the cowboy way of life.

Judy was formerly active in the Barrel Futurities of America, Missouri Barrel Racing Association (MBRA), and the rodeo community. She trained and produced money winning barrel horses and had an unwavering passion for the sport. Always generous with her knowledge, she loved offering advice to anyone who asked or simply needed it. Judy inspired her children to be strong, value hard work and family. Even when she could no longer attend events in person, she stayed connected by waiting eagerly for videos and phone calls. Her love for horses, barrel racing and her family never faded.

Judy worked side by side with her husband Vince raising their registered goats. Judy enjoyed working in her garden along with fishing and just being outdoors. On Sundays there was always a pot of homemade sauce and a plate of meatballs. Everyone was welcome.
