Jeannette L. (Sartin) Riggs was born April 20, 1939 in Johnson County, Missouri and departed this life on August 11, 2015 at John Knox Village Hospice in Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 22 days.
She was the daughter of Herbert and Dimple (Underwood) Sartin. Jeannette spent most of her lifetime in the Pleasant Hill area and attended Pleasant Hill Schools. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took great pride in her family.
Jeannette worked in food service as a cook and cashier at A T & T and later for the Pleasant Hill Middle School. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Pleasant Hill.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karla Lynn Riggs on April 23, 1990; her father, Herbert Sartin on February 20, 1982; her mother, Dimple Sartin on May 17, 1987, and one sister, Norma Yoder.
Jeannette is survived by three sons, Kevin D. Riggs and wife Teri, Kim L. Riggs, and Keith R. Riggs and wife Amy, all of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Nine grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral Service for Jeannette L. Riggs will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with Rev. Rod Richter, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Keith L. Riggs, Kyle D. Riggs, Richard L. Hood, Matthew S. Kemp, Thomas M. Doering and Patrick H. O’Reilly. Honorary Bearers are Russell Parris, Gene Craft, Jerry Yoder and Dean Yoder. Burial will be in the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the funeral home.
