Donna O’Tool

Donna Mae (Jennings) O’Tool was born March 5, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on November 8, 2015 at her home in Pleasant Hill, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the daughter of Junior Jule and Betty Mae (Knox) Jennings.

Donna grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Glennon High School in 1968. She went on to obtain an Associate Degree and was a contract computer programmer for different branches of the military. She was also a member of the Catholic Church.

In 1975, Donna moved her family to Pleasant Hill to make their home.Donna was a wonderful mother and grandmother, always putting her children’s needs before her own. She was also an avid Kansas City Royals fan, and hardly ever missed watching a Royals game. One of the things that kept her going through the last few weeks of her illness was her determination to see the Royals win the World Series. The World Series game had barely ended when she excitedly declared she had to have the World Series shirt and hat, and she got it!

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Junior Jule Jennings; her mother Betty Mae (Knox) Wilson and one brother, Roger Jennings.

She is survived by her one son, Corey O’Tool and one daughter Tammy Fields both of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Ronald Jennings and wife Kathy of Independence, Missouri and Michael Jennings of Independence, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Patty Jennings of Centerview, Missouri; two grandchildren, Nicholas Fields of Pleasant Hill and C.J. O’Tool, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary Recitation will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. The family will receive friends immediately following the Rosary from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Deacon Gary Kappler officiating.
