David H. Lindstrom

DAVID HERBERT LINDSTROM

David Herbert Lindstrom, 71, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on December 5, 2025.  He was surrounded by his loving family following a recent cancer diagnosis.  Dave was born on October 28, 1954 in Groton, Connecticut to Marian and Donald Lindstrom.

Donald, Dave’s father served our country in the US Navy in Honolulu, Hawaii; therefore, Dave’s early years were spent in Hawaii, enjoying the Hawaiian outdoors with family and friends.  In his youth, Dave joined the Cub Scouts, with his father taking a leadership role in the Scouts, and eventually grew to be a proud Boy Scout.  During Dave’s Junior High School years his parents moved the family to Grandview, Missouri.  Dave remained a Boy Scout following the move to Missouri, attended Scout Camp in Osceola Missouri, and became a member of the Mic-O-Say Tribe.

After High School Graduation in 1972, Dave followed his father and brothers’ lead and joined the US Navy.  In the same calendar year, Dave also married his High School Sweetheart and life partner; Sandy Brooks.  Dave spent 4 years in the Navy as a Ship Hull Technician and Welder, serving on the USS Thomaston LDS 28.  Dave proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and toured on a couple extended overseas missions.

Following the personal desire to serve his country, Dave returned to Missouri and started his family in Peculiar.  He and Sandy welcomed their son Scott in 1977 and their daughter Janie in 1979. He coached soccer and baseball for his children throughout their childhood.  The bond generated between Dave and his children was evident in everything he did.  He was a very generous spirit and would always put others first.  His love for family and friends was strikingly evident.

Dave worked a skilled craft position as a Pipe Fitter and was a union member of Pipe Fitters Local 533.  He spent many years as a Pipe Fitter throughout Missouri, he gained experience working for multiple employers, taking increasingly more senior positions; eventually working his way to General Foreman.  His final employer was the Foley Company, from which he retired.  Dave spent his final years with his grandchildren, enjoying many days gardening and walking his dog, Lindy.

Dave and Sandy were much involved with their grandchildren, participating in their up-bringing, helping their family in any way possible.  Dave’s happy place was while taking his dog Lindy, who was his constant companion, on long walks every day they could.  He enjoyed sports and the competition it brought.  He was an avid fan of the Royals, Chiefs, Aston Villa, and the Premier Soccer League.

Dave is survived by his loving wife Sandy; his children David “Scott” Lindstrom, his spouse Leah Powell Lindstrom, their children Carson, Reid, and Harper; his daughter Janie Lindstrom Bogar, her spouse Michael Bogar, and their children David “Blake” and Brice.  He is also survived by his sister Donna Lindstrom Cook, her spouse Dan Cook; his sisters-in-law Paula Lindstrom, Terri Brooks Arnone, and her spouse Paul Arnone.  He is survived by his brother-in-law William Patrick Brooks, his spouse Megan, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marian Lindstrom and his brother Joseph Lindstrom.

Cremation has been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. A private family remembrance will be held at a future date.
