
BONNIE JEAN (Marks) PUGH
Bonnie Jean (Marks) Pugh was born April 26, 1936 in Forrest City, Arkansas and departed this life on September 29, 2025 at her home in Pleasant Hill, surrounded by the love of family and friends, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 3 days.
She was the daughter of George Henry and Vera Lola (Barton) Marks.
Bonnie spent her first 8 years in Arkansas before the Marks family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where Bonnie attended Central High school.
On September 7, 1951, Bonnie was united in marriage with Jess Pugh in Kansas City, Missouri They lived in Kansas City until 1969 when the Pugh family moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri to make their home. Mr. Jess Pugh passed away on April 16, 1992 at the age of 59. Bonnie continued to live in Pleasant Hill after his death.
Bonnie worked for Pepsi Cola for 26 years before her retirement in 1998.
Bonnie’s life revolved around her family and her church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her life serving the Lord and spreading the love of God to all that would listen. She did the best she could to bless everyone around her with the love of the Lord and was instrumental in bringing many to the Lord.
In addition to her husband, Jess, Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, George Henry and Vera Lola Marks; her daughter, Stephanie Duffey; her only sister, Lola Hollaway and her son-in-law, Barry Wilt.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Kusch of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Sharon Wilt of Green Cove Springs, Florida; 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
A Memorial Service “In Memory of Bonnie Jean Pugh”, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 10, 2025 at Echo Church, 1203 N. State Route 7, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, 64080, with Pastor J. R. Brown officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
