BENNIE “Ben” NEILL

Bennie “Ben” Neill was born November 12, 1945 at the family home in Lone Jack, Missouri and departed this life September 12, 2025 at his home in Lone Jack, Missouri at the age of 79 years and 10 months.

Ben was one of eleven children born to Robert Granville and Opal (Marble) Neill. He spent his younger years in Lone Jack, graduating from Lone Jack High School in 1964.

On December 27, 1964, Ben was united in marriage with Linda Kay Corlew in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. After their marriage they lived for a short time in Lee’s Summit, Missouri before returning to Lone Jack to live. In 1989, Ben and Linda moved to a farm in Kingsville, Missouri where they made their home for 34 years. In 2023, Ben and Linda moved back to their “hometown” of Lone Jack, Missouri.

Ben worked as a commercial carpenter for KC Heritage Construction for thirty years, eventually working his way to superintendent of each job he was assigned to. He was also a farmer. Ben thoroughly enjoyed living on his farm in Kingsville where he raised cattle and other livestock. He also enjoyed hunting, especially quail.

Ben was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who was completely devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Opal Neill; one son, Anthony Neill; six brothers, Robert Neill, Wesley Neill, Russell Neill, Elmer Neill, George Neill, Kenneth Neill and Charles Neill and two sisters, Lorena Green and Bonnie Loveland.

Ben is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Linda Kay Neill of the home; sons, Darren Neill and Scot Neill both of Lone Jack, Missouri; sister, Florence Blair of Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Andrew Neill, Heather Neill and Robert Neill; three great-grandchildren, Roman, Remi and Mave; many nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Per Ben’s wishes, cremation has been accorded and no services are scheduled.
