Wendy G. (Magill) Peirce

WENDY GRACE (Magill) PEIRCE

Wendy Grace (Magill) Peirce passed away May 20, 2025 at Wilshire at Lakewood Rehab Center, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 5 days. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. Gabriel Orthodox Cemetery, 28620 105th Street, Weatherby, Missouri 64497, with Father Alexii officiating.

Wendy was born March 15, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, the youngest of Nathan and Grace Magill’s 6 children. She was an area resident all of her life, spending most of her days in Pleasant Hill, a town she loved, where she graduated high school in 1970 and returned in 1993. She attended Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas for one year and then went to Longview Community College where she obtained her Associates Degree in English. After that she studied at the University of Missouri/Kansas City.

Wendy was never able to teach English, the language she loved, but pursued other endeavors. She sold everything from wedding gowns to flowers to steel.  She owned a private employment agency in Lee’s Summit in the 1970’s and was supervisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in the 1980’s. She spent several years at Tasco Construction in Pleasant Hill doing pretty much whatever needed to be done in the office.

Wendy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Peirce; her parents, Nathan and Grace Magill; two brothers, Russell and Bill Magill; one sister, Mary (Magill) Yoder and her dearest lifelong friend, Margie (Duncan) Ott.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Altschul and wife Bing of Kansas City, Missouri, and Benjamin Altschul and wife Judy of Independence, Missouri; two sisters, Audrey Howe of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Lou Yates of Buckner, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; step-daughters; step-son; grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

In Wendy’s memory, the family suggests donations to the Everett Community Church, 33903 S. State Highway W, Archie, Missouri 64725, in lieu of flowers, as it was Wendy’s wish to give to the home church of her beloved mother-in-law, Marie McDonnell.

So sorry to hear of Wendy’s passing. I had known her since at least jr. high school, both in church and school.
