Helping Families and Friends Honor Loved Ones Since 1959

Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Ridge

Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Ridge, a remarkable, courageous, and inspirational young woman, was born June 17, 1983 in Scottsdale, Arizona and departed this life on January 15, 2018 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 34 years, 6 months and 29 days.

She was the daughter of Micheal and Maggie Ridge.

Vicki moved with her family to the Kansas City area when she was two years old. In March of 1997, the family moved to Strasburg, Missouri to make their home.  Vicki was a 2002 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School where she was a football cheerleader for four years.

Although plagued with painful disabilities her entire life, Vicki never complained, always had a smile on her face, and an outgoing, cheerful personality. She was the heart and soul of her family and always more concerned about everyone around her than for herself. Vicki did her best to make those around her happy and to make them laugh. Her care and loving concern for others led her to designate herself a cornea donor. This last unselfish act of Vicki’s will allow two people to be able to have the gift of sight.

Vicki was a member of Variety the Children’s Charity and served as their poster child for many years. She was a tireless and dedicated volunteer for this organization and would take it upon herself to go out and visit different businesses and organizations to help raise money for this remarkable charity.

Vicki was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Venice and Mary Younce.

She is survived by her parents, Micheal and Maggie Ridge of the home; Nana, Mary Griggs of Colorado Springs, Colorado; paternal grandparents, Feddie and Cheri Younce of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one brother, Josh White and wife Amber of the home; four sisters, Jessi Kee and husband Austin of Holden, Missouri, Shannon Ridge, Rachel Ridge and Amy Ridge, all of the home; nieces and nephews, Avery White, Peyton Kee, Adalynn Kee and Wade Ridge; other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral Service for Vicki Lynn Ridge will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri with Margaret D’Huyvetter officiaiting. Cremation following service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions to Variety the Children’s Charity at varietykc.org or a donation box will be available at the funeral home.

I just found out today of a dear friend’s passing.
My heart aches today for a very, very special friend who passed away on January 15th. I have missed you so much these past years.
