Shirley Brenner

Shirley M. Brenner (Johnson) of Pleasant Hill died on April 13, 2016, she was 77. Born March 27th 1939 in Kansas City, MO to George and Bessie Johnson she later moved with the family to Greenwood Mo where she grew up.

Shirley graduated from Lee’s Summit High School. She married Charles (Bud) Brenner in April 5th of 1958 and they moved to Pleasant Hill where they made their home and raised three children.
Shirley & Bud owned and managed Just Right Dry Cleaners in Pleasant Hill for many years. She then worked at Price Chopper in Lees Summit before operating a day care out of her home until her retirement.

Shirley loved to camp and spent many years camping with friends and family throughout Missouri. She also sold Avon for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill and the Ivy Leaf Chapter OES.

Shirley was preceded in death by; her parents, George and Bessie Johnson; her husband, Bud Brenner; her daughter, Sharon Allen; one brother, Leon Johnson and one sister, Lily Frazier. She is survived by one son, Roger Brenner (Kacy) of Pleasant Hill, Mo; one daughter, Sarah Lackland of Glascow, Mo; two sisters, Dorothy Briscoe of Pleasant Hill, Mo and Virginia Johnson of Lee’s Summit, Mo. Three grandsons; Joshua Brenner, Ryan Allen (Tania), Travis Allen (Jonni) all of Pleasant Hill Mo; one granddaughter, Catie Brenner Lees Summit, Mo; three Great Grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

The family will receive friends at the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill Mo on Sunday April 17th from 2:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. with an Eastern Star Service at 3:30 P.M. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 18th at the Wallace Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Deubner officiating. Casket bearers will be Ryan Allen, Joshua Brenner, Michael Collins, Joe Berbereia, Ken Cobb, and Leland Johnson. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
