Rosemarie M. (Splitter) Clark

Rosemarie M. (Splitter) Clark, 80 of Pleasant Hill, MO passed away May 6, 2020 at the Meadowview Nursing Home in Harrisonville, MO of the COVID19 virus.  She was born April 29, 1940 in Kassel, Germany to Otto & Leni Splitter.  She went to school in Kassel, Germany graduating with a seamstress trade school certification. She met her first husband in Kassel, Germany, James Potter, an Air Force Sargent, and married him in 1959.  She had her first daughter in Kassel, Germany and her son in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  They settled in Pleasant Hill, MO in 1967, when her husband retired from the Air Force.  She worked at the Burlington Sewing Factory in Pleasant Hill as a seamstress for a number of years after her children were in school all day.  She then was recruited to work at the Pleasant Hill Veneer Plant as a German interpreter, doing various jobs in the plant and then finally working in the office.  She was divorced in 1976 and married Sam Clark in 1978.  She had her second daughter in Pleasant Hill, MO.  She retired from the Veneer Plant for barely a year, got bored and started working at Walmart in Harrisonville, MO.  She finally retired completely from Walmart in 2008.  After retirement, she spent most of her time enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Sam Clark, her parents Otto & Leni Splitter, brother Aegon Splitter, God daughter/niece Angelika Claar and her first husband James Potter.

Rosie is survived by her sister Hannelore Claar, nieces & nephews in Germany, son Mike & wife Teri Potter of Pleasant Hill, MO; daughters Bianca & husband David Betts and Jamie & husband Bruce Ponder all of Pleasant Hill, MO; step daughters Kathy & husband Lonnie Pate, Kimberly & husband Monty Ross and Kristy & husband Eddie Harvey all of Pleasant Hill, MO.  Loved as Omie by her grandchildren David & wife Anna Betts, Brandon & wife Tana Betts, Kendal Ponder, Kayla Potter and Lukas Ponder, all of Pleasant Hill, MO.  Omie will also be missed by her (7) great grandchildren.  She also had several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Rosemarie was well known for her smile.  She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

At the time of Rosemarie’s death cremation was accorded, however, services were postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. The services have now been scheduled as follows:

Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Graveside Service and Inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, at the Lone Jack Cemetery, Lone Jack, Missouri. The family suggests contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W. 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208
