Neal Wissman was born December 17, 1974 in Merriam, Kansas and departed this life, unexpectedly, on June 24, 2017 at the age of 42 years, 6 months and 7 days. He was the son of Robert William Wissman and Beth Ann Wissman. Neal grew up in the Overland Park, Kansas area and graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1993.
On November 27, 2009 he was united in marriage with Amanda Diane Vera in Las Vegas, Nevada, they made their home in Shawnee, Kansas and became the proud parents of two daughters.
Neal was an avid softball player and golfer, but the most important thing in his life was his family, and the pride and joy of his life were his two daughters. He was the “Best Dad Ever”, and delighted in taking his girls to every animated children’s movie, theme park, go-cart track and bounce house he could find, he absolutely worshiped the ground his daughter’s walked on and would do anything to make them happy. Neal worked as a lead truck driver for the Shred-it in Lenexa, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Diane (Vera) Wissman and his two daughters, Camryn and Reese all of the home; his father Bob Wissman and wife Annie of Kansas City, Kansas; his mother, Beth Ann Wissman of Olathe, Kansas; two sisters, Erica Wissman of Olathe, Kansas and Laura Wissman of Kansas City, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Phyllis Vera of Wamego, Kansas; other relatives and many, many friends.
Cremation has been accorded. The Family of Neal Wissman will host a celebration of Life from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at Tanner’s Bar and Grill, 22374 W. 66th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66226.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested, and checks may be made to, Bright Directions ( a 529 college savings plan) for his children’s future educational needs, and may be sent in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 422 N. Lake Street, Pleasant Hill, Missouri 64080.
