David Wilhite was born May 26, 1979 in Greenwood, Mississippi and departed this life on July 12, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
He was the son of David Lee Wilhite and Yvonne Belinda (Haigwood) Wilhite.
David spent his younger years in Overland Park, Kansas. In 1992, the Wilhite family moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri to make their home. David was a 1997 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School where he was an active member of the Pleasant Hill F.F.A. After graduation, David worked in the construction industry until declining health forced him to retire.
David was a member of Saved By Grace Fellowship in Raymore, Missouri. When his health permitted, David enjoyed hunting and fishing.
David was preceded in death by one sister, Michelle Wilhite.
He is survived by his father, David Lee Wilhite of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; his mother, Yvonne Belinda (Haigwood) Deason of Batesville, Arkansas; his paternal grandmother, Nina Wilhite of Overland Park, Kansas; one sister, Cassie Capps of Raymore, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Jordyn Merriman, Justice Merriman, Julia Merriman, Jayden Merriman, Joseph Merriman, and Jemma Capps; one great-nephew, Mason Seleman, other relatives and many, many friends.
The family of David Wilhite will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Funeral Service will immediately following at 12:00 Noon, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kevin Coffman officiating. Casket Bearers will be Michael Whitehead, Josh Marshall, Rusty Foley, Austin Seleman, Joshua Kuhns, Jake Greer, Travis Hodges and Charlie Greer. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, in Johnson County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 11200 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, Kansas.
