Helping Families and Friends Honor Loved Ones Since 1959

Agnes L. (Evans) Rogers

Agnes Louise (Evans) Rogers was born November 7, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas and departed this life on May 23, 2020 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 16 days.

She was the daughter of William Earl and Naomi Lucille (Balch) Evans.

Louise spent her younger years in Dyess, Arkansas, graduating from Dyess High School in 1957.

On February 22, 1958 Louise was united in marriage with Alfred Gene Rogers at her parent’s home in Dyess. After their marriage, Louise and Alfred moved to Raytown, Missouri were Alfred began his career with the Raytown Fire Department and Louise became a full-time homemaker and “stay-at-home” Mom. Louise was a loving and supportive mother, raising her three children and becoming a surrogate mother to many of their friends and family. Later, after her children were older, Louise took a position with Mar-Kay Plastics, eventually working her way up to production manager.

After her husband’s death on March 17, 2010, Louise continued to live in Raytown until 2014 when she moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Doug Walkenhorst.

Louise liked to make quilts, and had made one for each of her grandchildren, she enjoyed fishing, and was an avid reader. But the most important thing in Louise’s life was her love for her family. Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very involved in their lives and took great pride in their accomplishments. Louise loved having all her family at her home for the holidays, birthdays and any other milestone family event, and through  her kind and loving nature, she made each child, grandchild and great-grandchild know they were special and important to her.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Gene Rogers; her parents, Naomi and William Evans; one infant daughter, Patricia Rogers; five brothers, Tommy Evans, Jerry Evans, Don Evans, Pete Evans and Billy Evans and one sister, Wanda Bernice Morris.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Walkenhorst and husband Doug of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; two sons, Rick Rogers and wife Tracy of Grain Valley, Missouri and Randy Rogers and wife Rita of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; six grandchildren, Krysti Walkenhorst, Kacie Pap and husband Tanner, Ashley Ray and husband Tyler, Brent Rogers and wife Greta, Courtney Bolton and husband Trevor, and Abby Schoeneberg and husband Derek; five great-grandchildren, Fredrick Ray, Finley Ray, Kelsie Pap, Blair Rogers and Clara Bolton.

Condolences to the Rogers family. I will remember you all in our prayers. Although I don’t remember meeting Louise, it seems like I probably did, as I lived in Raytown 20 years.
