Christy L. Braccino

Christy Lynn (Hancock) Braccino was born February 13, 1973 in Clinton, Missouri and departed this life on August 13, 2017 at her home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, after a courageous life-long battle with several debilitating illnesses. As always, she was surrounded by the strength and love of her family.
She was the daughter of David and Sue (Hampton) Hancock.
Christy spent most of her lifetime in Pleasant Hill, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1991.
On November 1, 1995, Christy was united in marriage with Joe Braccino at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and they made their home in Pleasant Hill.
With her health declining by the time she was in her twenties, Christy still went on to obtained her CNA certification from John Knox and, as her health permitted, she worked at various care centers throughout the area, including Edgewood Care Center in Raytown, Missouri.
Christy loved animals, birds, flowers (especially crazy daisies), all types of music, and, when she was still able, camping, fishing and working with her dad in the woods.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Marion and Virginia Hancock and her maternal grandfather, Albert LaHue.
Christy is survived by her parents, David and Sue Hancock, her husband, Joe Braccino and her maternal grandmother, Alice LaHue, all of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
A Memorial Service, in memory of Christy Braccino, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with Rev. Harold Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00- 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to service time, at the funeral home.
It was Christy’s wish, that all those attending services wear bright colored clothing.
